Brief description

Quick and easy coordination

Coordinating events and meetings is part of everyday work for users of the German Research Network. The DFNTerminplaner is a generally accessible platform that enables DFN participants to coordinate events and appointments quickly and easily. Data protection and data economy are very important to the DFNTerminplaner - the current version of the service can be used without logging in. When accessing the DFNTerminplaner, IP addresses are only stored in anonymised form and all log files are completely deleted after seven days. All data is stored exclusively in Germany at DFN-Verein, is not passed on to third parties and is not used for any other purpose. An expiry date must therefore be specified for each vote; depending on this date, the relevant process, including all data entered for it, is automatically deleted.

The functions at a glance

The software offers the user not only a modern user interface and a simplified usability, but also many different possibilities to design his vote. It is not necessary to register with a user account; people can access the software simply by entering their e-mail address. For the creator of a vote, there is also an administrator account, which offers extensive editing functions even afterwards.

Functions are e.g.:

  • The creation of anonymous votes in which only the administrator can see the names of the participants and the result.
  • A maximum limit per answer option, e.g. for consultation hours or occupancy lists.
  • Access to a vote can be secured with a password
  • Participants can edit votes that have been cast
  • Participants have the option to vote by proxy

Since February 18, 2020, the DFN appointment planner 4.1 is available. It now offers the possibility to query the e-mail addresses of the participants (optional or mandatory), to close a voting, to mark an appointment as already selected and to comment on its selection.
