Als Softphone bezeichnet wird die Realisierung eines Telefonanschlusses am Arbeitsplatzrechner mittels Software. Dafür sind natürlich ein Lautsprecher und ein Mikrofon (oder Headset oder USB-Hörer) notwendig.

Falls das Softphone hinter einer Firewall verwendet werden soll, so muss die Firewall entsprechend konfiguriert werden. Hier sind auch für ankommende Verbindungen von den TUphone Servern entsprechende Regeln vorzusehen. Welche Ports freizugeben sind, hängt von der jeweils eingesetzten Software-Variante ab. Wir empfehlen, bei der ersten Inbetriebnahme von Cisco Jabber mittels VPN verbunden zu sein. Bitte beachten Sie, dass bei Verwendung eines Softphones außerhalb der TU Wien (z.B. am Heim-Arbeitsplatz, am Laptop von unterwegs) vorher ein VPN-Tunnel mit dem normalen VPN-Service aufgebaut werden muss. |

Die Software für Cisco Jabber für iPhone und Android bitte aus dem jeweiligen App Store beziehen! |

Which ports are to be released depends on the software version used. We recommend to be connected via VPN when using Cisco Jabber for the first time. Please note that if you use a softphone outside of the TU Wien (e.g. at your home workstation, on a laptop while travelling), a VPN tunnel with the normal VPN service must be established beforehand. |
