If the softphone is to be used behind a firewall, the firewall must be configured accordingly. Here, corresponding rules must also be provided for incoming connections from the TUphone servers. Which ports are to be released depends on the software version used. We recommend to be connected via VPN when using Cisco Jabber for the first time. Please note that if you use a softphone outside of the TU Wien (e.g. at your home workstation, on a laptop while travelling), a VPN tunnel with the normal VPN service must be established beforehand. |
