Simulated VLBI Data

TU Wien provides VLBI schedules that include observations of both quasars and the satellite Genesis. The schedules are based on a 16-station global network and each schedule has a duration of 24 hours. About 14% of the VLBI scans are to the satellite. In total, eight such 24-hour schedules are provided, covering a full week starting on August 3, 2025. The schedules were generated using VieSched++ and they perform the basis for the generation of the simulated observations with VieVS-VLBI. Currently, the schedules with the observations are provided with NGS-files.

The dataset is organized as follows Pilot Project (G1)/vlbi/::

  • ngs_data_v1/ - contains the NGS files with the simulated VLBI observations (by TU Wien)
  • description_G1.pdf: provides a detailed description of the dataset and its structure.
  • input_protocol.txt: contains the modelling settings used in VieVS-VLBI.
  • Network.png: network used in the study.
