Where is my home directory located?

You can save your personal data on a removable medium (e.g. USB stick) or in your home directory. In reality, this is not located on the local PC, but directly in a separate directory with the name "LIZNG" in your home directory on the student server. The directory "My Documents" is on the same level and is just linked into the directory "LIZNG". So if you always store your personal data there, they will be visible in future LIZ system versions as well.

Please make sure that you never exceed your disk quotas, otherwise the login process will fail or error-free operation will no longer be possible.

If you have selected "Local" when choosing the session, your home directory is not located on the server, but locally on the PC. Accordingly, your desktop and application settings are not available for this session, i.e. a local session is always started with the default settings. However, so that you can still access your data on the server, you have the option of mounting your directory on the server under the "HomeServer" virtual drive. We recommend this session method if the Internet rooms are very busy and a smooth work would not be possible otherwise due to a potential server overload. Note, however, that a local session does not preserve any settings you have made, and is not related to the settings of a normal session (home directory on the server). Please also consider that in a local session your home directory is in memory and very large downloads can therefore lead to system instability.
