LectureTube FAQ

Check whether there are still old LectureTube activities in your TUWEL courses and replace them with the new LectureTube activity, as shown in the LectureTube videos from previous semesters guide. The old activity could have been imported into your courses through the import function ("Course reuse" in TUWEL).

Under certain circumstances, the visibility setting of the series can trigger the error. Check whether this is set to "TU Wien" in the LVA Administration in TISS, as shown in the Embed LectureTube videos in deviating TUWEL courses guide.

If the visibility setting of the LectureTube series in the course administration in TISS is set to "Not listed", the videos will not be displayed in your TUWEL course. For the integration in TUWEL, we recommend setting the visibility to "TUWEL course", as shown in the LectureTube series and episodes guide.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Set the visibility setting of the LectureTube series in the course administration in TISS to the option "TUWEL course".
  2. Embed the LectureTube series or episode in your TUWEL course as shown in the LectureTube Series and Episodes guide.
  3. Hide the video activity created in TUWEL. To do this, go to the "Further settings" option in the "Settings" tab of the activity and set the dropdown field for "Availability" to the option "Hide on course page".

This can have several reasons:

  1. Check the visibility setting of your LectureTube series through the course administration in TISS. If the videos should only be visible in the corresponding TUWEL course of the lecture, make sure that the option "TUWEL course" is set. If the videos are integrated in a different TUWEL course (e.g., a course of another semester), the "TU Wien" option is suitable for the visibility of the series.
  2. If you integrate your videos into TUWEL courses, it is also necessary to add a new "LectureTube Video" activity and make it visible.
  3. You can check the status of the videos in your LectureTube overview in your TUWEL course. If the scissors icon is displayed next to the video, the video must be published manually as shown in the LectureTube Editor guide. This is the case if "Manual publishing via TUWEL" is selected through the course administration in TISS.

The overtime minutes of your course (anything beyoned your booked course time) will not be recorded.

Should it happen in exceptional cases that you are still in the lecture hall when the recording of another course has already begun, do not stop the recording manually, as this would cancel the entire recording.
