LectureTube Status Symbols and Metadata
Prerequisite
You need to have a LectureTube series to use LectureTube. If you do not have a series for your course, first create one via TISS. To create a series, navigate to the "Course Administration" in TISS and under "Announcement" of the course, click on the tab "E-Learning. In the section "LectureTube", you can create the series for your course and set its visibility.
- Open the TUWEL course of your lecture, for which you have activated LectureTube through TISS.
- Klick on the "More" tab and select the entry "LectureTube" to display the overview page of your videos (Figure 1).

In this overview page, you can view all your LectureTube videos, which were created with any LectureTube service. This overview also includes videos that are scheduled or recorded in the lecture hall.
Note
Reload the TUWEL page to see the current status of the videos in the overview.
The following status symbols are present:
Planned - A scheduled lecture hall recording.
Capturing - The recording in the lecture hall is in progress.
Needs cutting- The video can be cut.
Succeeded - The video is successfully processed.
Failed - A problem has occurred
Processing - The video is being processed.

Furthermore, there are other status-messages, such as "Ready for transfer" or "Post upload tasks are being processed...", which are performed after a video has been uploaded. These can be displayed until the video is successfully transferred on the LectureTube server.

Update metadata
Metadata, such as the video title and the names of the presenters, can be edited for successfully processed videos (green check mark as status) as follows: Click the gear icon next to the respective video in the "Actions" column and select the "Update metadata" option.

Update metadata, such as title and presenter(s), and save your changes.
Note
Some editable fields are not displayed in the user interface afterwards.

Note
You can edit the metadata of the videos that have the "Needs cutting " status using the "Video Editor" option. More information is available in the "LectureTube Editor" instructions.
